Flowers

These paintings were done starting 6 months into Covid isolation, 2020. They reflect a deep dive into flower images: at first looking at Cezanne still life (with tulips and apples). Then stretching the boundaries of these blossoms / changing the composition and letting the images float in space. For the tonal paintings, I organized the landscape to read cold, wet. (Covid-like). The arbor image was the walk- way to the beach during a winter break dodging the Virus and people.(2021) The Nastursiums grew in profusion in my daughter’s garden in California. I had a four day visit/ Covid break/ before vaccines and Omicron.
