Christmas Cactus in Parts began with my Christmas cactus blooming out of season and spreading itself across the counter. Rather than rearrange it into something more orderly, I gathered the different pieces and painted what was there. The result is less a traditional flower arrangement and more a portrait of the plant exactly as I found it: blooming on its own schedule and in its own unruly way.
