Monet’s Colors

Monet’s Colors grew from winter visits to Florida’s west coast, where the light can remain remarkably bright even when the weather turns rough. I was interested in Monet’s use of color and the way unexpected blues, purples, and other hues can create light and atmosphere. The knotted tree brings something less peaceful into the scene, inspired by vegetation I’ve seen blown down onto the beach after coastal storms.
