Small in scale but full of movement, Mid-Day Storm captures the restless energy of an approaching storm. Water pushes into the grassy shoreline beneath a turbulent sky, blurring the boundary between land and water. Painted during the winter of 2009, it falls between two other storm-inspired works, Portentous Night and Storm Surge. Perhaps I was a little restless that winter.
Painting info: Mid-Day Storm. Acrylic on stretched canvas. 10″ x 10″. 2009. $500.
