This painting combines floral and landscape features – the table on which the vase is sitting looks more like a storm at sea than a solid surface. I completed a large series of these flowers, mostly on smaller canvas pad, with the flower-heads taking on personalities. I was re-creating the loose paintings of the watercolors.
