Swimming at Long Pond, Wellfleet returns to a place I have known through many summers in the water. The pond is clear and cool, surrounded by the grasses, trees, and changing colors of the shoreline. This small painting captures something of the experience of being in the pond itself, with the landscape gathered around you rather than viewed from a distance.
