Summer Afternoon is so intensely yellow it could almost serve as its own night-light. Painted to capture the feeling of summer heat, the color seems to radiate from the canvas rather than simply sit on it. On a hot summer afternoon, I understand exactly why I wanted to paint that warmth. Hung in the right spot, this one might even make a room feel a few degrees warmer.
