This painting, done during the first year of his presidency, is the foretelling of his attack on America: COVID deaths and no acknowledgment of climate change; destruction of the land and economy based on agriculture. Most clearly, his attempt to crush the constitution.
In this painting, he overlooks the devastation from floods. His border wall is insignificant – the weeds crawling out from under the fence represent the millions of people fleeing from impossible lives to America that is no longer welcoming.
This figure appears defeated and exhausted. As we now know, that part of my painting is only wishful thinking. Let’s see what comes next from my crystal ball.
The title of this painting “So Sad” is what Trump used to say in his early speeches.
Painting Info: “So Sad”… Trump. Acrylic on canvas. 48″x 60”. 2017. $3,000.
