Flowers in a Vase 3/12 –” After Cézanne” was another early painting in this series, still closely referencing Cézanne and still more structured than the work that would follow. At the time, I had no idea how long the COVID lockdown would last, or how many flower portraits I would paint before it was over. This one was part of the process of moving forward, one canvas at a time.
