Early Spring Backyard captures that particular stretch of Vermont spring better known as mud season. The landscape is monochromatic, without the vibrant color we associate with spring; although perhaps that says as much about my own impatience for the season to arrive as it does about the view. Sometimes early spring is less a burst of color than a promise that color is coming.
