3.5 Evergreens comes from the stands of evergreens surrounding my Vermont studio. They form a kind of curtain at the edge of the yard, and over the years I’ve watched deer, bears, a Canadian lynx, and more rabbits than I could count emerge from between the trees. The painting captures that familiar view, along with the sense that something might be just beyond the branches, waiting to cross the yard down to the creek.
